Hi, hello, welcome,
My name is Soma and I created this website out of my curiosity for the beauty and impressive nature that is around us in the world.
Ever since I was a teenager I have always been drawn to the masterful classical arts such as sculptures and paintings. I was amazed when I entered the wonderful Metropolitan Museum of Art and Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) in New York in 2013 at the young age of 18. It was so thrilling to see iconic oeuvres that I have read so much about previously. I remember standing in front of the Picassos, the Warhols and the Van Goghs in downtown Manhattan and thinking that I am witnessing something out of the ordinary.
As I got a bit older, I also found joy in applied arts, such as fashion, graphic design, architectural design and ceramics. I saw some pretty apartments all over the world that made me realize that how we surround ourselves, what colors we use in our rooms and what furniture is in our bedrooms deeply affects our wellbeing and mental state.
Later on, I found tranquility reading some of the earliest works in philosophy from Socrates to the Stoics. I started my Philosophy bachelors with the purest joys on Earth, as I not only read the most important thoughts of my predecessors, but also books about Aesthetics. Although how we use the word today on an everyday basis is vastly different from its original meaning, I decided to go with the everyday meaning for the website as most people will immediately recognize what it will be about.
My hopes for this project
With the recent developments in artificial intelligence, I thought that I would base this website on the things, on the culture and on the beauty that’s surrounded by us in a unique way: I would write about things that interest me solely by researching the individual topics in books and indicating the references at the bottom of the article to support the facts. In the current times I believe we need facts based articles and well-researched editorials.
I truly hope my passion for this project will inspire others. I encourage everyone to keep an open conversation and contact me anytime they like.
Yours sincerely,
